Refreshed, Rejuvenated, Ready to Go
Seems I have been neglecting my blog. I will try to get to it more often. I spent the first four and a half days after school got out in the great Up North. It was a great place to unwind and get myself into a summer groove. It worked.
I've been swimming a few times. I hope to get more in, but I have some long neglected "honey dos" to do. I'm starting with the decluttering. I even found the top of my desk today. I have much to do, but I am making small gains every day. I'm planning to paint two rooms this summer, put up a gazebo, plant my rock garden, and rearrange some furniture in the house....move it to different rooms.
July will see me in class again. I am looking forward to that. It can only help to prepare me for job advancement. Then I will just need one class, but won't be able to get it until January. The end of July sees me at the Midwest Writer's Conference where I will hopefully get pointers on my new book, find an agent for a current book, get a start on a series for kids, and be able to read some of the research I need for my professional book. Lots and lots of plans.
My grandkids are going to spend a week-end with me in July. I am looking forward to that, so a lot of work will be done in the next couple of weeks in preparation for that. Rooms to clean and beds to ready.
In August I will be the maid of honor in a dear friend's wedding. It will be a casual afternoon wedding. I couldn't be happier for her.
I continue on my weight loss quest. I need to lose the weight for my health. I have more energy and find I am not hungry. I just need to make time for continuous exercise. I am down a total of 45 pounds since the first of Sept. 2006. My goal is to lose 17 more before school starts. I also plan to continue losing during the next school year. The new and improved me will be healthier and that is the goal.
I have adopted two people in the military and am sending letters and care packages. That just feels like the right thing to do. If anyone else would like to join me, go to http://www.soldiersangels.org/ and check out what is required.
