Alas, I have lost the entire third novel. All the rewrites and edits are gone, along with the ending. Everything will be backed up on a usb port from now on. I’ve also lost most of Who’s Watching Willow? and a book on arson I was working on.

All this because my laptop came with a defective hard drive. It was so bad that nothing could be retrieved from it. The Geek Squad was unable to get into it and my friend Rick said it was pretty bad. So, it is back to the drawing board.

Happy reading.

I am not feeling ultra happy right now. My laptop is worthless. I spent $2000 2 years ago on a Dell Inspiron notebook. For starters I hate Windows 2007. I needed something compatible with Windows Office Suite 2003.
I’m a writer and wanted to use them interchangeably. Yeah, right! NOT! First there is no desk top publishing, I use that all the time. Second I have NO need of one note. I’m not in college writing papers that require graphs and power points inbedded in them. Waste of money. Now I learn after a trip to the Geek Squad that my computer was sold to me defective.

So what are the chances that Dell will make this right? Slim and none. Since I have to talk to some idiot in India named Jim (pronounced Chim). Like I don’t know his name is Sahib. Do they really think people are that stupid? I depend on the laptop/notebook. I use it daily. Now it looks as though I’m stuck with one that is not worth the scrap I could get for it.
Do I want to buy another right now? No, but I will be forced to. You can take it to the bank that it will NOT be a Dell. I’m so done with that company. And to make matters worse, I need to add memory to my desktop.  Gee, that means another purchase from Dell. So, I’m going to put that off for a long time.
Can you say Dell is a rip off? I sure can.
